Like the Evil Queen, women of all ages have always had a love-hate relationship with the mirror. And when faced with progressive signs of waning beauty with every additional candle, our concerns would naturally change with time.
But what exactly is the mirror-on-the-wall showing women of various age groups that’s freaking them out? It appears that the Evil Queen might have been seriously jealous of Snow White’s sculpted jawline, according to a new study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in May.
In this survey titled “Mirror on the Wall: A Study of Women’s Perception of Facial Features as They Age”, Turkish researchers asked women seeking consultation at a cosmetic surgery outpatient clinic:
The findings revealed that women in their 20s were mostly focused on and seeked improvement for their noses and skin.
Women in their 30s and 40s were also concerned with their skin, but changes around the eyes were also a focal point.
Women in their 50s shared similar eye concerns, but were most unhappy about their sagging jawlines.
Regardless of their age, women generally compared themselves to young women in their 20s and 30s. Hey, who prefers to look old and saggy?
And to Her Evil Highness: Instead of chasing after Snow White’s neck, you might want to check out Ultherapy – the latest non-surgical facelift alternative to magically sculpt a well-defined V-shaped jawline without any needles or downtime! So nobody else would know, but everyone (including the Magic Mirror) would notice.
How about you? What bothers you most when you peer into the mirror?
